Chris Gallon: Started playing again...

Hey Ted, I love the website! I started playing regularly this spring/summer after taking a 5 year break from the game. Put up a 69 this past weekend. I really focused on keeping my legs quiet on the last few holes. Thanks for all your help those years ago. You definitely gave me a skill and passion I will have all my life. Thanks again! Chris

Shot 79 this morning, Ted Laughing. Never thought in a million years I would ever break 80. Bringing it more from the inside and putting the ball better now. Having a great time because of our lessons.

Thank you!!

teds: Won Club Championship

Ted,I just want to say thanks for being my golf coach. I played Wendy today and I was so nervous because she puts so much time into her game and I am lucky if I get in 9 twice a week.  My round today was far from perfect -believe it or not my short game saved me. I just pretended I was at your house hitting shots to those greens at 20 30 and 40.  I won 4 and 3. Thanks again and see you soon.Lora

Bob Latham: Played Great

Ted - I played in a tournament this past weekend with a friend who afterward said he was so impressed with my swing improvements would I give him your number to call?  He may be calling you. His name is Scott Christie. He is a former Gitlen Champion and 15 time West Shore CC Club Champion.  So, you must have done something right with me.I will be calling you soon to schedule a check up session and short game (30-70 yards) work. Best,  Bob Latham

Ethan Wasil: Won Tournament

Dear Coach Ted,   I played in the PING EPT tournament today at Timbers at Troy, I shot even par 72 and won in 16-18 boys. I am on my way to Florida, I will send you my statistics soon.   Thanks for all your help,   Ethan

Andrew Goetz: Best Tournament

Coach Sheftic,

I played really well today.  My putting was solid, I would have just liked a few more to fall.  All in all it was probably the best round I have played all year.  I was in a tie for first place and lost in a play-off.

Lauren Smith: Great Lesson

Ted,Just wanted to thank you for a great lesson today. I had a lot of fun out on the course. I went back to the golf course this evening and played for a while. There was noticeable difference in my thought process which in turn helped me play better. Lauren.

Bob Latham: Student

Ted - I just wanted to let you know that since our last session April 30, using the baseball drill, I have been able to improve my balance and shallow out my down plane considerably.  I played in a one day tournament Saturday and my ball striking was very good, 10 out of 14 fairways nine GIR under difficult (windy) conditions. I will keep you updated.   Bob Latham

Dennis Zimmerman: New Student

For the past month, I have been striking it better than I have in my 30 years of playing.  Last week I shot the best round of my golf career--a 73 at the Iron Forge course at Penn National and It made me think about my 1st lesson w/ Ted back in the Spring of 2009. 5 minutes into the lesson, Ted says "you can't play with that impact position"!  Now, I had been a 5-7 hcp golfer for a while, so he got my attention with that statement!  I sat down to look at the video and I saw my swing just as I had looked at it many times over the years of playing golf and taking lessons from some of the games' top teachers--Ballard, Leadbetter, Mike Bender, etc.  I was not exactly a "teacher hopper", going from one method to another, but I was aware that despite becoming a better golfer over time that I wasn't solid and I still had that "flippy" look at the moment of truth despite all the lessons and practice I did, nothing seemed to change it. After that 1st lesson, Ted gave me a series of drills and things to prac

Harry Brandt MD: Lessons from Ted Sheftic

I've taken lessons from some of the top instructors in theworld....including Peter Croker, Bobby Cole at the Jim McLean school, andMike Labauve. Frankly, none can hold a candle to Ted. He is highlysystematic in his approach and is incredibly helpful. I study golf all thetime, and when I tend to disagree with something Ted tells me, I find days, weeks or months later that he's always right! That's why I travel 1 1/2hours to see him each week and will continue to do so.Also, his golf school in Vero Beach, Florida during the winter isunparalleled.Harry

Dan Mastrangelo: Great Lesson

Ted:   I enjoyed the lesson from last week.  Last night was the first time i was able to play, although i did practice at the range for severaL days.  Overall, i hit the ball so much better, and it was accurate.  However, i cannot seem to complete the swing with the driver and i am hitting hard slices to the left.  I guess this is something i really need to fix.   Just an update.  I hope,to be able to make another appt. with you soon.  unfortunately work is getting in the way.   Thanks   Daniel Mastrangelo

Kenneth Matt: Great lesson

Coach, Thanks again for your time wednesday.  I think I am getting it after spending time with you.  Back swing last year, impact and release this year.  I hit balls several hours yesterday and video taped my impact.  I am holding that club, right hand off as long as I can and arching my spine.  On video from the back of my swing, my arms post impact are finishing more left because of holding it off.  More importantly, my hands look like they are infront of the ball at impact(no flip).  Beautiful little draw every time consistently and lower.  If I miss a little right I think its because I dont arch up and the club doesnt quite square up.   Lots of work ahead but I think this year of tournament golf could be lots of fun.  Ill call you in a few weeks about working with you again.

Jonathan Schwartz: Pace-Sheftric Golf School

Bob - Usually the Ben that my swing is compared to is Ben Franklin's(post mortem) or Benji the dog.  Seriously though, I want to thank you for including me this past weekend. It was great to see you, as well as getting to know Edd, Dave, Pat, Jeff, John, Kevin, and Jay; and hopefully will see you all next year for our sophomore year at golf school.  I learned a lot and had a great time as well. All the best.   Jonathan

Jeff Swarr: Pace-Sheftic Golf Schools

Bob and Dave,The company was fraternal, the accommodations perfect, and the restaurant selections enlightened. As for the golf school, I've been wandering around in the dark for so long that heading to the golf course was becoming just another struggle with random bad habits. Ted, Roy, Mark, and Rick turned the lights on and my ability to enjoy the game will be forever enhanced. How can I thank you enough for sharing?Sincerely,Swarrzy

David Roy: Pace - Sheftic Golf School

Thanks to all for the kind remarks. I was glad to see everyone enjoy the the school this year as much as Bob & I did last year.   With that in mind, you need to take a few minutes to jot down some notes in your notebook now while they are still fresh in your mind. I watched my video last night, jotted down a lot of notes, and pulled out last year's book for comparison. I found it interesting that last year's notes were mostly all about grip, pre-shot routine, setup and weight shift while this year's notes were more about downswing, lag, impact and finish. This year's video showed that I now naturally incorporate most of last year's changes without thought and have graduated onto tackling a different part of my game.   So take the time to watch the video and jot down some notes. You will find yourself referring to them all year long and next year the changes to your swing will become automatic.   Dave   PS. This year's video had a bonus track of Pat on day two which I found interesting to watch (not as bad as a wedding video). I was glad to see that I was not the only one a bit "over the top".

Jay Francis: Pace - Sheftic Golf School

Golf withdrawal has now set in, and I find myself fantasizing about warm weather, clear skies and chasing a small white ball down the fairway, or rolling a put in from 4 feet over a penny.  Ahhhhhh!!! So fine.

Now what I want to know is, what the dates are for next year's school so that I can reserve my spot.  I expect that it will be a full house next year.

Bob and Dave, thanks for the leadership.  To the rest of the "Core Group", I look forward to seeing your beautiful swings in the near future.

Best

Jay.

Dr. Benton W Taylor: Thanks for making golf fun

Hi Ted.  I took a one hour lesson from you about three years ago.  My wife purchased the lesson as a birthday present.  Since that lesson my handicap has dropped from 25+ to 13.  I only play once a week and go to the range occasionally to practice what you taught me.  Your teaching skills helped me to know why I hit bad shots and have given me the ability to make the corrections on the course when I am not playing well.  You have helped to save me much frustration and have helped to make the game much more fun and enjoyable.  Thank you for all that you do and kudos on your new website.

Dr Harry Brandt: Your The Man

Hi Ted:Great breakthroughs yesterday.  Best one was the realization that afterfollow through (both arms fully extended after impact), I need to let myleft elbow fold rapidly.  I was holding it straight for too long. This iswhat was preventing re-cocking and the full release of power accumulator #3.It's also why my swing had that silly, too high finish. My new swing sequence is impact - full extension - rapid left elbow fold.Ted, you are THE MAN.

Guest: Ted's DVD 5 Steps to Solid Shots

Ted,          Thanks for the informative DVD that clearly and concisely demonstrates the fundamentals of your teaching techniques. I was impressed with the way you divided the various segments, and the order of your priorities.           When the Chinese adopted the slogan ----" A picture is worth a thousand words"---- they certainly had it spot on.            I have been trying to figure out when we had our first lesson----- but the early pictures I have are not dated----my guess is 12 years---can you verify?????            In summary, the DVD is probably the best of all of your sessions. It certainly cuts to the chase with no wasted words--------if a rookie started out just aping those movements they could become a fine player in a  short time           I hope you and Toma Lee have a wonderful holiday season, and esp

Hey Ted!Love the new site design, much cleaner and orgainized. Keep it up!!

Just want you to know I've just about worn out the DVD's of the 3 lessons I had with you this summer. They have helped me immensley! As you know, my "last straw" round before coming to you was a 122 and I went home lighter in the wallet to boot. Well after 3 lessons with you, getting married and going on my honey moon, I've come back to clean up from my buddies and shoot the best golf of my life. My scores are now regularly in the mid 80's to low 90's and my tee to green game is 100% improved. Oddly, putting and short game are now my weak spots after being my strong suits for many years. But I love bombing those sumbitches down the fairway 270 280 all day.

I would like to schedule a visit with you, give me a call and hopefully we can set up a time.

Thanks again for your help and I hope all is well with you.

Regards,

Glenn

Guest: Steve Thomas: Thanks, Steve

Hi Ted, when we last met I was preparing to play the VA Sr Open. While my scores (79-78) were not as good as I'd have liked, there were a lot of good things to build on. Since late June when we started working together I've been very happy with the results and I'm getting a better understanding and feel of what we are trying to accomplish. I thought I might be able to get up to see you one last time but at this time I think I am going to concentrate on improving my physical fitness and working on the drills we have discussed. I'll check back with you throughout the winter and I look forward to working with you again next year. Regards, Steve
